SINCE Drake wore one in his Hotline Bling video, the Moncler outlet puffer jacket has become a status symbol in outerwear.

The Hotline Bling clip alone sparked a huge surge in sales of the US $1150 red Maya puffer jacket, as seen on the Canadian rapper.

Sales of the garment more than doubled after the video was released in 2015, according to Vanity Fair, making Drake an unofficial face of the brand (he has since worn it frequently).

“We had a great result on the e-commerce sale of the Maya model,” a Moncler outlet spokesman told vanityfair.com at the time.

Hotline Bling — which has now had more than a billion views on YouTube — was a defining moment for Moncler, which had been close to bankrupsy in the early 2000s.

Nearly two years on from Drake’s now-iconic video, the French luxury brand has finally opened its first stand-alone store in Australia.

“It’s a country that I believe can become important for our brand,” Moncler president and chief executive Remo Ruffini said.

“We have planned to further consolidate our presence on both sides of the distribution channels, both retail and wholesale, through opening this shop-in-shop”.

The Moncler store officially opened at Chadstone shopping centre in Melbourne last week.

It houses the brand’s prêt-à-porter collections of up-market outerwear and accessories, including its cheap moncler jackets Grenoble, Moncler Enfant, Moncler Lunettes and Moncler Gamme Bleu ranges.

Moncler’s New Short Film Moonray Is Sci-Fi B Movie Gold

Whether extraterrestrial-fashionistas are extending their influence into the farthest corners of the universe on social media remains to be seen. But apparently, style is a universal language that extends far beyond the Milky Way galaxy.

In Moncler’s new fashion film, two space explorers discover that extraterrestrial fashion has come a long way since E.T., Star Wars and District 9. A silver alien foe (or friend?) battles with the earthlings in a scene not dissimilar to those witnessed in queues for the latest mega-hyped streetwear drops. However, rather than a money gun, the Glaglax inhabitant comes armed with his “style-swapper gun,” and shots, quite literally, are fired.

Latest Moncler Collection Offers an Artsy Take on Your Summer Wardrobe

Moncler’s latest collection is set to add a witty, subversive punch to your summer wardrobe. The brand, which is known for its wildly popular—and ultra-functional—winter gear, has teamed up with Paris-based illustrator and painter Jean-Philippe Delhomme, best known for his whimsical takes on fashion and popular culture, to capture the essence of the world’s most famous beaches. The resulting Postcards collection, which features a range of T-shirts, swim shorts, and windbreakers, is a vibrant and playful nod to iconic summertime destinations like Venice Beach, the Hamptons, and Positano.

His resulting illustrations have been emblazoned across summertime wardrobe staples using a unique combination of digital printing and embroidery. After being coated in resin, each illustration is then printed and brought to life via embroidered details that create a 3-D effect on the final garment. In addition to printed T-shirts and jackets, the collection also includes solid pieces that draw from each of the illustrations’ cheery yellow, blue, red, and sandy beige color palettes.

Standout pieces from the collection—which is available to purchase both in store and online—include cherry-tomato-red swim shorts ($220), a T-shirt featuring an Americana take on the Hamptons ($480), and a playful, Positano-inspired rendition of Moncler’s classic windbreaker ($1,355).
