Client Liaison’s top 5 winterfashion tips

If there is one band in Australia that knows something about fashion it is Client Liaison. Ahead of their free show at the Rekordlig Sounds In The Snow in Thredbo on Saturday 22, the Melbourne duo share a few handy tips on how to handle the winter with style.

1. Nothing beats thermal underwear

To be strictly worn under ones planned attire, thermals are a great way to maximise warmth, in turn minimising the bulky outer layers traditionally used in winter dressing. Hot tip – unlike the two middle-aged models pictured below, a 15 percent increase in warmth can be achieved by simply tucking your top into your pants.

2. The All-Australian woollen jumper is a strong look

We have a large collection of home-made woollen knits in our winter wardrobe, protecting us against the winter cold whilst also keeping an important family friendly appearance to those around us. We are particularly fond of our Australian animal range which currently includes a wombat, echidna, koalas, a joey and a frilled-neck lizard.

3. Forget the scarf, winter is all about the neck warmer

Unlike the traditional scarf, the Neck Warmer does a much more thorough job of protecting areas of the body that are sensitive to the cold – particularly the lower part of the neck. Unfortunately the Neck Warmer has its downfalls, unlike thermals this garment is not as easily concealed. We suggest matching your Neck Warmer to the colour, and if possible texture, of your day’s outfit.

4. Lord it up with layers

In accordance with our tip to use thermal underwear, layers are the key to staying warm whilst also giving you the ability to have multiple outfits in one day’s ensemble (indoor, outdoor and on the slopes). Keep a maximum of layers in the chest, neck and abdomen region to ensure warm blood can flow to the extremities.

5. Don’t underestimate the poser of a one-piece ski suit

Keeping your body’s warmth contained within one unit is only the first reason for choosing the one-piece ski suit. The other, more important reason is the wonder it does to your body’s appearance, particularly the rear. We like to go with a vintage goose-down variety as current offerings lack in both quality and range of colour. Our top picks for brands are those from Europe; Bogner, Henri Duvillard and Moncler Outlet for high altitude.
